Did you choose your favorite souvenir yet? If you have enough free space to your luggages, then choose from home deorative souvenirs. In that way, you will built memories at your trip that will last. By purchasing traditional Greek home decorative souvenirs, you could reminisce your wonderful vacation time. Like … every time you see it hanging at your wall. Personally, on my trips, I am choosing replicas for my walls and fridge magnets for gifts to others.

 

  • Olive Wood Products     

    The olive trees are nonetheless integral to Greek culture. Such as olive oil and olives are important part of our tradition. Choose a special souvenir for your beloved ones or just a home decorative for you to remember your time here. Likewise, you can buy a useful present like wine openers, honey or olive special spoons, pestle & mortar, butter knives and many more. Women in Greece mostly choosing pottery plates with blue or green paint. Similarly, they are choosing drinking vessels with painted the blue eye for good fortune. Usually, they are hanging the plates at the walls instead of a painting. Moreover, they put them in the middle of the table for beauty. Sometimes is empty and sometimes is filled with pot-pouri or candies and chocolates. These ceramics are really a fabulous idea for a lady’s present. Differentiate the gifts by choosing different eras like golden Pericles’s times or Minoan civilization and Cretan era. Meanwhile, depends on your budget you can choose those with 24k gold painted.

  • Rug

    In Greece they used to sew on the loom heavy wool cozy rugs called flokati. Flokati is very fleecy and warm with large carpet pile. Usually, the traditional ones had a dull white – yellowish color. Their purpose used to be as a rug, wall hanging, bed cover or shepherd’s coat. Nowadays, flokati has many colors and shapes at the stores of Plaka, Mitropoleos and Aiolou. I know…I know…It takes up space at your luggage. You can take a small one or tell the seller to send it home. It would be the nicest gift for you or your mother and aunt.

  • Fabrics

    Do you love doilies, coasters, table linen and tablerunners? Our local textiles are one of a kind. Choose a delicate nice-designed lace fabric to remember your trip in Athens. Above all, I am sure that your wife will love a nice embroidery table cloth.

  • Replicas

    Are you a museum-acholic or an ancient Greece’s lover? Then my proposal to you is to buy a nice replica or an archaeological reproduction. There are many uses for these archaeology replicas. Furthermore, you can choose through many different choices. There are helmets-shiels, statues of gods and goddesses and statues of the symbol of goddess Athena the wise owl. Moreover, there are bookcase in shape of Zeus, plastic kid’s helmets, playmobils representing the ancient gods, masks, plastic weapons. Also, amphoras, jugs, Aphrodite’s figurine, vases, chess with gods pawns etc.. In that way, you have plenty ideas to buy something appropriate for children of all ages. Besides the flea market, you can also find these replicas on each museum.

    In Athens there are many shops which merchandise religious items decorated by silver and gold. If you are a believer, you can choose a well-artisan silver ecclesiastic icon for your wall. These products are high valued because they are all handmade with 925silver. On the other hand, maybe you just want something from the fine silver, which is not religious. There are many silverware, plates, bowls or press-papiers and pomegranate charms, for everyone hammered by hand. You will find them around Monastiraki square and Agiou Markou street.
